Capricciosa is an Italian restaurant chain that’s famous all over Japan. Unless it’s a family restaurant that just microwaves everything, even a chain will vary a bit from branch to branch. Beef-bowl places like Yoshinoya and tendon places like Tenya tend to vary quite a lot, and the branches near big, busy stations usually can’t guarantee the taste. It’s a bit of a shame sometimes when people eat at one of those just once and decide Yoshinoya’s gyudon is bad. To my taste it’s far better than McDonald’s, after all..
The Capricciosa in my neighborhood is right in front of the station, but the food is pretty decent. They have fresh pasta on the menu, and honestly the pizza isn’t bad either. Not top-notch, but solid. The prices aren’t bad either. The only downside is that parking is awkward.

This is what I ordered, my favorite dish at this place. I love the chunky bite of the salmon. The tomato sauce isn’t too sharp or sour, and the fresh pasta has a nice nutty flavor. I won’t deny it feels a bit like eating seafood sujebi (Korean hand-torn dough soup)., but that’s part of the fun..
My tearful obligation chocolates..
Truth be told, the whole point of this get-together was to receive these, and even though they’re just obligation chocolates (giri choco), I really had to work hard to get even this one box.. My eyes are welling up. (And on top of that, I paid for dinner that day..)
What’s inside
Well.. obligation chocolates or not, they taste pretty good. In the old days I might have said “I don’t accept cheap chocolate like this~”, but if I were that picky now I’d be left out or socially ostracized.. Getting older can be kind of sad. Still, I got at least one this year, but next year it looks like even this will be hard to come by.. OTL To keep that from happening, I’d better make a one-year plan and start moving now.
