These days you could say Publique is the leading bakery in Hongdae. The prices are good, everything tastes great, and they do desserts too. I’m really glad a place this good exists in Korea. ^_^
Chocolate tart
The chocolate is seriously rich. I knew they were good at bread, but who knew they were this good at chocolate too. Makes me wonder what they can’t do.. I’m curious whether they’ll put out something special for Valentine’s Day as well.
Croque monsieur
This just looked like ordinary toast, but it was anything but ordinary. There’s rich, gooey cheese inside that delicious bread. It only tastes right heated up and eaten straight away, so it’s best to order one and eat it at the café out front, but if you have an oven at home it would be good gently warmed there too. A dish that really shows what Publique is capable of.
Brioche Nanterre
I tried a sample and then bought this one — soft and sweet. It seemed like it would work as a stand-in for breakfast, except.. I couldn’t wait until morning and polished it all off that night.. -_-
Vin chaud
It’s wine that has been heated up. There’s a little alcohol to it, but it warmed me right up. I thought it might be the perfect drink for winter..
Apart from these, I drop by Publique pretty often, but I haven’t taken many photos. Anyway, everything is good, so I don’t think you could go wrong picking anything at random.
